Andrew Schwartz
of Red House Productions:

To truly understand the creative soul is a manager’s most important skill, and Andrew brings to the artists on the Red House Productions roster a first-hand knowledge of the performer’s life.

Andrew’s own long musical career has included performances on the stage, in nightclubs, or in the recording studio with many great artists, including: Jennifer Holliday, Joel Grey, Dr. John, Bernadette Peters, Freda Payne, Jose Carreras, Chaka Khan, Michael Feinstein, Mary Wilson, Maya Angelou, Bob Hope, Perry Como, Tom Browne & Noel Pointer, Teddy Pendergrass (at Live Aid 1985) Phyllis Newman, Helen Schneider, Ray Chew, Marilyn Horne, Jerry Hadley, and The Roches. He was the touring guitarist, for eighteen years, with rhythm & blues legends Ashford & Simpson.

He contributed his guitar artistry to the original Broadway productions of Dreamgirls, Evita, Crazy For You, Meet Me in St. Louis, Flower Drum Song, High Society, and The Light in the Piazza, among many first-run hit shows.

Music production services are an important aspect of the Red House relationship with its artists. Andrew’s early work as a busy session musician led him to composing, arranging, and producing award-winning music for advertising. In his own Red House Productions facility he produced the albums for aspiring artists, edited music for ABC television, and created digital sound designs for corporate clients. This production work continues today in an effort to ensure that artists on roster are releasing the very best recorded music possible.

Andrew received his M.A. from New York University’s Music Entertainment Professions Program (a commercial Music Business degree) and earned his Bachelor of Music in Performance as a classical guitarist from the Hartt School of Music.

He was on staff at Sony Music Entertainment Inc. for nearly five years, ultimately as Associate Director, A&R Administration, at Sony Classical before reinventing Red House Productions – reborn as a management and consulting firm to work with his close musical colleagues. Andrew’s extensive network of top industry personnel has enabled him to gain access to the decision-makers on behalf of his clients – record labels, publishers, and concert promoters are among the contacts Red House artists have access to.

Andrew is an elected member of the Executive Board of the Associated Musicians of Greater New York, Local 802 AFM. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Recording Musicians Association/New York Chapter, the Broadway Theatre Committee, and is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. He teaches music business courses at New Jersey City University. Red House Productions is an exhibiting member of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
